Today, I was a McDonalds McHappy Day Ambassador for McHappy Day 2017.
I’m a firm believer that there’s simply not a better charity out there than the Ronald McDonald House. It’s a cause that I’ve always been around in some way or another, and I always love the chance to help support it however I can. Growing up, my father’s company was a major supporter of theirs through the London Health Sciences Centre, and I’ve always done my best to support the cause directly, as well as indirectly through benefit golf tournaments and other events.
Recently, my family had cause to use the ‘family room’ at Markham Stouffville Hospital, and I had a chance to see first hand how incredible the work done by Ronald McDonald House is. It’s amazing the lengths and efforts this charity goes to for children and their families in their time of need.
When I was given the opportunity to help out as a McDonalds McHappy Day Ambassador at the Warden and Highway 7 location in Markham this year, I certainly wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity. I see the incredible effects the charity has on our community every day, so being involved in any way truly is special for me.
So, onto a little about my incredible experience…
I can’t believe how fast things move! I missed pressing the “I already served this person” button and caused a line that wrapped around the entire store! The people behind the window are the fastest and most organized, hardest working people I know!
Oh, and I rallied up $2.65 in tips! (Got a MAJOR round of applause by the entire team) 😉
This event is amazingly organized and is as fun as you could possibly imagine.
A major shout out to the warriors at the Ronald McDonald house and the day to day team members making the magic happen behind the counter! I have a new appreciation for each of you!
While I was there, we managed to grab a few photographs with some awesome people (a massive thank you to the awesome Spencer for his capturing and sharing these great images), and we wanted to share them with everyone and encourage any of you who are in a position to do so to help Ronald McDonald House in any way you can today, and in the future.
Before I go, I wanted to give a massive “thank you” to Todd and Marcie for inviting us to be part of McHappy Day 2017 at their McDonalds location at Warden and Highway 7 in Markham. It really means a lot to myself, and everyone here on The Marketing Butler team!
